Bengals, in the heart of Louisiana.

Library Bengals is a Bengal cattery in South Louisiana. We have owned Bengals since 1993 and in 2015 we started breeding and showing them.  Our Bengals are bred from Apollo, our beautiful, rosetted male and our stunningly gorgeous females. Our kittens are born, raised and loved on by our family, Each one is handled and socialized daily, for a healthy, well-adjusted pet. We offer a one-year health guarantee, which covers spaying/neutering, genetic issues, and a health check by our vet. Every one of our kittens is cleared for adoption by our vet before they are placed.

We screen our breeding cats for HCM every two years, by a board-certified cardiologist, testing for color, PK-deficiency, and PRA. All results, pedigrees and vet records are available upon request.

If you explore the TICA’s breeding standards, you’ll see that our cats are bred to emphasize the “wild” look of jungle cats, but with the sweet and well-adjusted temperament of a domestic cat.

We’ve put not only a lot of time and effort (and funds!) into our cattery but a lot of love, as well. As a result, we entertain only serious inquiries and review and consider all applications for adoption before we agree to place one of our kittens with you. We know you’ll appreciate our attention to every aspect of our breeding program and find our Bengal cats to be a beautiful addition to your family.

Our Approach

Our Bengals are raised in our home, as our pets. It’s sometimes tough to keep the genders appropriately separated, but it’s working.  We strongly believe in screening and testing our cats to ensure that they are as healthy as possible.  We choose our new cats and kittens for our breeding and showing programs carefully. Our kittens are handled by us from the day they are born and every day after to foster in them a love of people that will last forever.

Our Story

We were introduced to Bengal cats in 1991 and immediately fell in love with them.  Our first boy was a grandson of Gogees Sir Prize Pick.  We got him from the Nola cattery that was located near New Orleans.  In 2015, we registered our cattery name, Library, with both TICA and CFA.  We enjoy going to shows with our kittens and cats.  We have become clerks for TICA, and we are on the Bengal Breed Committee/Council for CFA.  We are looking forward to many more years of showing and raising quality Bengal cats.
